what do you think?

what do you think?

My batchelerette party is the weekend of June 7th in fireisland. FSIL is in my bp and she had a baby yesterday. She already said she couldn't come to batchelerette party because she was having a baby. The weekend is a month a way and a few people are only coming for the day. She wouldnt have to stay over night. Would you be insulted?

No, I wouldn't be insulted...she just had a baby, and it's a weird and emotional time for the parents. Giver her some space...she may change her mind closer to the date, but even if she doesn't come, I wouldn't make such a big deal out of it.

i agree. i had two girls un-able to come to my bachlorette party. though they were missed, it didn't bother me. I knew it was going to be hard to get every single person together on the same night. regardless of that, like the a.p. said - having a baby is a life changing, mood-altering, EXTREMELY emotional time. i would give her space and not mention it too much if she already knows about it. she may change her mind when the date gets closer...heck she may feel she NEEEDS that night out ya know? i say lay off..if she comes it'll be great, if she doesn't it's her loss. u'll still have fun no matter what

Not at all. She just had a baby and as of right now probably can't imagine leaving it alone for the day to go party even if it is for such a good cause . As others said, she may change her mind when the day gets closer but if she doesn't and it's a matter of her forcing herself to go just to make you happy would you really want someone there who wasn't having fun? My motto is always, come if you want but don't do me any favors! I never get upset about things like that ..as long as people tell me the truth. if you tell me you're sick and have to cancel plans and then I bump into you in the movie theater, I'd be a little bent!

BTW, without your sister in law there, you can REALLY let loose. Ha ha

Have a great time and focus on who is there rather than who isn't!

I would wait until the date gets closer. Maybe a couple of days before suggest just going over there for the day and tell her not to stay over.
