I was at my future in laws yesterday for a bbq and we were listening to the radio and Love The Way You Lie came on and FFIL told me him and his wife were thinking of singing this song to me at my wedding.
I was completely SHOCKED when he said this yesterday, I was SPEACHLESS but when I finally gathered my thoughts I asked him why this song?? His Mom said 'simply for the fact that I want to embarass my son'.
FH and I have a great relationship so I don't know why his father would want to sing that song at our wedding. When I told FH that his father said this I asked him not to say anything because maybe I took it the wrong way BUT ***???? How could you take that the wrong way? There's only one way I took it and apparently his parents don't like me.
I need help understanding all of this so if you google the lyrics they aren't very nice words....help me try and understand all of this PLEASE!!

i would call them yourself and say, 'i've been thinking about what you said about singing that song at the wedding, and i'm really not comfortable with the song you chose. i don't feel it's wedding appropriate and i would feel disrespected if you chose to sing a song with lyrics like that.'

maybe they just hear it a lot on the radio and picked it as a joke? but aren't really going to sing it?
I would say no singing at the wedding! yesterday my friend was trying to say my moh and the best man should sing a duet. I was like no this isn't a broadway show it's my wedding lol.

Whether he was joking or not there's NO way in HELL I would EVER allow them sing anything like that at my wedding. They won't be invited, I don't care who they are. Family or no family it was just RUDE and obnoxious and I am LIVID!
The more and more I think about it the more and more I'm getting MADDER!
The absolute only time FH and I fight is over them. His family is VERY different then mine. Sometimes I wonder where he came from because he's the complete oppositte of them.
They once told me I need to lighten up and I take everything so serious so when he said that yesterday I was like I can't blow up on this man because he already thinks I take everything so serious.

I thought they were joking too but out of all the songs that came on the radio yesterday his father told me he was going to sing when the Eminem song came on.
If a Katie Perry song came on and he told me he was going to sing one of her songs like California Girls then I would be able to laugh it off but Love the you Lie is about a dysfunctional relationship in which I don't have.

'his family is very different then mine. sometimes I wonder where he came from because he's the complete opposite of them' what you said reminds me so much of what I say about my FH lol. he is so much different then his parents.
