What do you think?

I just wanted some opinions on this. Maybe I'm being snobby and/or old fashioned. FH was in a wedding a few months ago and we obviously gave a gift. I was invited to the shower but I'm pretty sure I was either on a B list or like she realized she forgot to add me to the invite list because I was invited via phone like 3 days before the shower. Needless to say I didn't go but I sent her a gift anyway. Never got a thank you or even an acknowledgement that they received my gift.

Now this is FH's best friend and I've been friends with him for 16 years. His wife and are friendly but not friends. Now I just heard they decided they are not doing thank you cards at all!!!!! I thought not sending a TY card for the shower was rude but not for the wedding either!!!! Insane!!!! I am so bothered by this that I just had to get the opinions of you all! So tell me what do you think?????

I do think it is rude! FH best friend/BM wedding was last year and they never sent thank you cards. I'm not upset or anything but I do find it rude that they didn't.

2014er crashing! I think thank you cards are SO important!!!! For weddings and the parties leading up the wedding people bend over backwards for the couple. People travel from everywhere, go to a store to specifically purchase items you register for, take time out of their lives to make this time special for the couple and show their support. Mailing a card to say thank you is in my opinion a requirement, not an option! People are not obligated to bend over backwards for a couple just because they are getting married. I especially hate when than you notes take forever to receive and they aren't even hand written. I just don't get it.

Horrible. I think it is rude when a thank you is not sent. Worse case senerio get it pre-printed and call it a day.

Last year we went to a communion party at Russo's on the Bay and a year and a half later I am still waiting for my thank you. You spent all that money, added so many personally touches and stop right before the end? What horrible manners you are teaching your kids.

I agree, it is very rude. My cousin invited me to her wedding with only 2 weeks notice and it was in another state. She claimed that she didn't know my email address. Yup, wedding invites through email. Well I felt like this was a horrible excuse since her sister has all my info and they are in contact. Anyway, I did not go bc I thought she was really rude for not giving me notice. I just sent her a check and she cashed it immediately. No thank you or acknowledgement whatsoever. Are these people socially stupid?!??!

RUDE! I've gone to weddings and not received a thank you. I agree that they absolutely should be handwritten. It's fine if you have a pre-printed message, but you need to write a line or two as well. Just my 2 cents....

I couldn't imagine getting a gift and not sending a thank you. That is about the rudest thing I can think of when it comes to weddings.
