If you were in a wedding that WASNT having a rehearsal (rehearsing like 5minutes before) would you be insulted that there was no RD? is it tacky not to have an RD? i just think with everything else we are planning (from out of town no less) and that jewish weddings dont usually have rehearsals (even though we ARE having an interfaith ceremony)... is it OK to skip the RD???

Re: what do you think about no RD?
I am proabably not having one since I cant afford it.....think of it this way - everyone that would be involved in the dinner is obviously close to you and loves you - so I am sure they would have no ill-feelings toward you if you didnt have one.

I am not even planning on having it, I am Polish and there is no such thing as RD if there are some issues to resolve we just might meet in my apartment to discuss, we'll see...

I am definately not having one. I don't think there is anything that you HAVE to HAVE. Its your wedding, your money and you do with it as you wish.
Honestly, we are not having a rehearsal, all the BP is local.. so there really is not point.

We aren't having one, we just cannot afford it. But out BP is fairly small, and it the ceremony will be simple, so it really shuldn't be a problem. I don't think anyone will be offended.

I don't want to have one either, our bridal party is 2 people so I want to skip it.

I don't think you HAVE to have one at all...I have been involved with weddings that did not have them and I was not bothered by it.
You go with your no RD!

I was wondering about this also, since I am getting married at the place, so I didn't think we were having a rehersal

I totally agree with that. I believe in the idea that you don't HAVE to do anything you don't want to - it's your and your FH's wedding!!

Just an FYI - my FH's cousin had his wedding and reception at the Majestic Gardens in November of 03, and they had a rehearsal two days before, complete with dinner afterwards. You could have a rehearsal if you want one. The Maitre'd did it - showed people how to walk and where to go and ran through the ceremony a bit. But don't if you don't want to! I just wanted you to know it was an option. Call the Maitre'd (sp?) and ask.

I am not going to have a RD. Our BP is very small (just siblings) and FI and I feel that its really not necessary. I say do whatever you want, it's your wedding.

Absolutely not, again, remember, to qoute the oracle, Lady P: Your day, your rules! Have an RD if you want one, dance in the rain if you want to. There is no right answer -- whatever you do will be right!

Re: what do you think about no RD?
Jewish weddings, which I am having usually don't have them before, so the answer is no you can go either way and NO ONE would be insulted, and if someone were, tell them to go where the sun don't shine...
