What do you think about this??

A friedn of a friend of Dh had a baby girl yesterday after havinbg 4 yes 4 bioys. Now she had a difficlut pregnancy woith three of teh 4 boys. If yo were bless to have 4 healthy boys would yo try for 5th for girl? Also what if #5 was boy what would you do? I think if you are blessed with healthy kids I would stop at 3 if I was tryign to get one of teh oppisite sex of what i already had.

Well, maybe they wanted five kids? Is that a possibility? I mean, you have to know that you're chances are only 50/50 if you've already had four kids. I'm sure she just really wanted another kid, no matter a boy or girl. Now, on the other hand, I know a girl who wanted to have her eggs spun to insure she would have a girl I'm not a holy roller or anything, but a baby IS a blessing, no matter the sex, so that whole egg spinning thing annoyed me. Luckily she never ended up doing it.

Well, that's sad. Good thing it WAS a girl. Can you imagine the resentment they'd feel towards the baby if it was a boy? (can you sense the sarcasm?) Whatever. People are weird.

I think it's ridiculous to keep having kids for the sole reason of trying to get one of a specific gender. If you genuinely want more kids and are hoping for a girl or a boy, that's one thing, but it's no reason to have kids. I know my sister would have loved to have a girl, but she has two boys. After the second one, she looked at me and said, 'now it's up to you to have a girl.' She wasnt' about to keep trying!

I agree with this. Even though I know now that I'm having a boy, I wouldn't have cared either way. I just want a healthy baby!

it is especially frustrating when that is their focus...'if this baby isn't a girl, i am gonna cry!'!!! wth??? i've seen people who dote on the girl and neglect the boys...sad!

Yes, that's a bit much after 4 boys to have another just to try for the girl?? I'm pg with a boy and I want a girl, but I don't know if I want to have another baby just for the sake of trying to get a girl! And right now I'll just be happy if we both make it out of this pregnancy healthy! It's a huge thing having a baby -- you don't just keep going till you get what you want!!

On another note - especially about being happy with what you are blessed with, an uncle and aunt of mine had four girls. They kept trying for the boy. Finally, her 5th pg was a boy... but she delivered a full term still-born. They just weren't meant to have a boy, I guess.

my girlfriend is one of 8 girls(my age and is #2 born) mom kept tring cause she had to have a boy.... well she finally got her boy and you would think she would have stopped there nope.... here comes number 10 yes i said 10 and it was a boy too! ... years go by and all the kids are either married or out of the house at school and here comes number 11 yup i said 11 a boy, what is her mom tring to even the score ! lol last i heard though that was it! but who knows! i could never!
