OK What do you think? Look yonder at the gold fabric hanging at the top of the fireplace. That is to cover a portrait. I think that it looks out of place. I was thinking about getting fabric (something that coordinates with the gray sandstone fireplace, maybe a cool light color such as lilac, silver, etc) and putting a monogram on it. I know people do the monograms for the aisle runners, why not for a tapestry. Either way something has to hang over the portrait, so it might as well be something that goes with my decor. I also thought about leaving the portrait but I don't think that it will look appropriate. What do you ladies think I should do? Any other ideas?

I think having a custom made draping that matches your color and with your monogram will be sooo cool. Very Platinum Wedding-like lol.

hmmm maybe try contacting one of the places that does custom monogramming on aisle runners and see if they can do it? I think it's a great idea! What is the portrait of?

LOL the portrait is of the Fortunoffs. They look like they are in their 70's or 80's.

I am a fool, I was so into the idea I was looking for a pic of the monogram hanging
I think that is a good idea especially if you want it covered. Can you hang a pic frame over it? Maybe you could get a frame and have your monogram blow up at staples on poster paper and then hang that?
