What do you think of starlight express DJ?

We're actually using them and I've only heard good things. We're using Paul (one of the owners) as our MC. For some reason, they don't let you just have a DJ--you have to use both a DJ & MC. They were a little pricey considering that we're not doing anything like a light show or giveaways. But I got the impression that they wouldn't do anything cheesy like some of the other DJs with whom I met. I know that ACE2445 on The Knot used them and she gave them a rave review. Hope this helps!

Ok honestly..my sister used Starlite Express and I defintiely put them on my do not use vendors list.
For the positives they really did have people on the dance floor ALL night. BUT they completely ignored the must play/do not play lists my sister gave them. They specfically said no conga lines and of COURSE they had a conga line. I seriously wanted to smack the MC. he was on my nerves in 5 seconds. They told him they wanted low key, and he was TOTALLY in your face, and he was on the video dancing on the dance floor..blech.

And he actually came up to people's tables and put them on the spot to get them to dance. It was REALLY embarassing and annoying. He was always trying to call up the bridal aprty, and kept coming over to my table with his stupid mic. It got to the point where the entire BP basically ignored him b/c he was getting on our nerves. Two of the BM went and hid in the bridal suite b/c this guy just kept getting in our faces and saying the BM's had to dance. I don't know. I found their style REALLY annoying, and it definitey didn't fit in with what my sister and BIL asked for, and they were pretty expensive, so they were on my 'vendors not to use' list after my sister's wedding
