What do you think of the dress? w/ Pic

So far in my search for a dress I liked this one the best - the only problem it is double what I wanted to spend . I am going to Kleinfelds on Oct 25 and maybe I'll fall in love with something else and cheaper. My friends aren't crazy about the diamond crystal thing on the dress - it can be removed but it actually looks nice when I tried it on. I found a place in NJ that is willing to give me 10%. Any thoughts?

Its made by Rivini. What other dress have you seen that you can recommend? I like the Monquie Lhullier sp? her run a little cheaper than the Rivini dresses.

I LOVE it - I like the crystal detail - it makes it more unique.

THAT is a gorgeous dress...different and stunning....I would get that in a heartbeat (providing I could pay for it that is LOL )

your wedding gown is a deeply personal purchase...I would go with your gut feeling on this one and place others opinions to the wayside. My own mother hates my dress and stated that publicly to quite a few people and I don't give a hoot...it's different and I LOVE it...it's the dress I want my fh to see me in when I walk down the aisle towards him.

I LOVE the crystals on it...gives it personality. this is a stunning gown...can I gush anymore...who is the maker if I may ask?

ML is more expensive than Rivini. Both designers love working with lace.

That dress is absolutely stunning, and I definitely don't think the diamond 'belt' per se is too much at all!

Did you check out Watters & Watters - I saw a very similar dress to this one, but without the diamond section. You can also add that diamond section if you wanted to.

The Watters & Watters dress I saw that looks like this one is about $1,300 or so.

more expensive that Monique and the like

If I may make an alternate suggestion, like itslaurie said there are a few dress makers out there in the lace style (I think Paloma Blanca makes a few nice ones) you can purchase on of those (much less $$) and find a very similar trimming like the crystals in the fashion district. just bring a picture with you- then you can have someone alter the dress by sewing the new trimming on.

you will save thousands and still have the dress YOU want!

Well the Monqiue dress I wanted is 1350 less than this dress. I think it depends on what dress you compare it too. I think they might be charging for the crystals? who knows. I will look into Watters and Watters. Thanks for the suggestions.

They definitely jack up the price b/c of the crystals - without a doubt. Good luck looking into W&W...

I love the dress but, I am not sure about the middle crystal part. Though I would have to see it on you. A lot of dresses I wasn't crazy about on the rack looked beautiful on me.

I would look around and try to find something similar. If you still compare every dress you try on to this one, go buy it.

I absolutely love that dress. I'm looking for something similar with silver in it, but haven't really found anything I LOVE yet. That's a great dress. Maybe you can have it made at a fraction of the cost. Christine is having hers made and it is less expensive. That's definitely an alternative you can explore. You did a great job picking that dress. I feel your pain though regarding the cost. Good Luck!!!
