I am a little confused. I just found out that one of the groomsmen wants to drive his own car to the reception.. This due to the fact that he won't be able to get a ride home and if he brings a date she will have to get there. Another groomsman who is a friend of his asked him if he wanted to get a hotel room and he said no because basically he will be bringing a date and it is only for him and the date. That is completely understandable. But right after church this groomsman is going to get into his car and drive to the reception and not go in the limousine with us. Do you think that is okay? I almost got a little freaked for a second.. But then i decided not to let it stress me, i am not even worrying about it. I just told FH that he needs to tell his friend that he needs to park his car in the lot right across from church and that he needs to stay with us in church afterwards for pics, etc... and then once we head off to the hall then he can get the car... What do you guys think?

I think that's fine - as long as he is still doing his GM duties - don't worry yourself about whether or not he wants to drive - it will be fine!

Re: What do you think of this?
I think it should be your FH's call. I don't think its right. What is so wrong about the guest driving herself to the wedding. I did it about 3 times when my FH was in wedding parties without me. I can see where the CH would be a little wierd for her so you might want to invite her into the bridal suite. Another option would be to have the GM leave his car at the reception hall before the wedding, this way his car is there and he can go in the limo with you.

I agree as long as he is around for pictures and gets to the hall at the same time as the limo. Why cant his date drive the car. They are gonna need a ride home from the place after/

It will be completely fine. I'm sure his date will appreciate him not leaving her on her own!

You are going to have soo many other things to worry about that day. Don't let this stress you out.
As long as he gets everywhere on time I would'nt see it as a problem.

Don’t sweat it. Just make sure he knows that he will need to take pictures and such for an hour or so and let him go on his merry way. If he's being a .... you don’t want him around you anyway!

Re: What do you think of this?
Ask your friend if the date can drive his car herself to the reception. That's what most people do if their dates are in the wedding party.
That way he can enjoy the fun in the limo.
Otherwise, it's not a big deal at all IMO

As long as he is around for pictures it shouldn't matter how he gets there. Just think...more room in the limo for you and your friends!!! : )

Re: What do you think of this?
Maybe the GM doesnt trust his date driving his car? Some guys are like that with their cars.... But you should ask him if she can drive herself and then if he says no, then dont sweat it. It's not worth it.,...it's only a limo ride...more room for everyone else. I think the limo ride is so fun! You feel so special as people drive past you strapped into their SUV's as you sit back and laugh with a glass of champagne in your hand
