what do you think of this.

so, a girl i went to HS with got married yesterday.

i came across some pictures on facebook of it... and her dress was white & so were the BM dresses!!! and they BM dresses weren't just plain white, they were kinda sparklely white.

i was like.. w t f, you can even tell who the bride is in the pictures that are from like the waist up.. you can only tell if they are whole body pics because the BM dresses were tea length..

what do you think about this?

actually, someone i used to work with was in a wedding where the BM's wore white. when i asked her about it, she said that it was an old irish tradition that the BM's wore white along with the bride so that the evil spirits didn't know who the bride was. (she was irish and her sister was the one getting married, they even had the groomsmen wearing kilts). not sure if that's why your friend did it though.

Personally..I wouldn't do it but I have heard of the all girls wearing white tradition from some book..I just think I would have to wear a huge 'carrie Bradshaw' in the SATC movie size dress to make up for the others in white.

Wow, I've never heard of or seen that before. I wouldn't do it but if that's what she wanted, good for her I guess. lol.

I've heard of this too, I watched a show once about the origins of wedding traditions and the whole origin of bridesmaids was for that purpose, to confuse evil spirits that were out to get the bride ...

I think it is bizarre but if it is tradition... I still want to be the only one wearing white at my wedding!!!
