I don't really have a lot of money to spend on centerpieces (estimating 340 guests...eeek)....and since i love candles, I wanted to do candles and rose petals. I really loved the centerpiece in the picture below, especially since i'll have be having long oval tables.
The manor room at westbury is big...and i don't want the candles to get lost in all that space. I COULD add pillar candles, but they are considerably more expensive (I can get the votive holders AND candles for 50 cents each).
Do you girls think the votives will do?...as long as there are enough of them? I plan on having at least 14 votives per table (one for each guest at the table in case they want to take one home)....the spacing of the candles will be similar to the picture
I love it. I plan on using candles too. Great idea.

I think that looks pretty, is red your color? I also think the pillar candles would add a little depth to your centerpiece which would also look very good.

I thinks its beautiful too. Even if your color is not red, I like the idea of a bold contrast to the table clothes...there are many options...I toyed around with the idea of candle centerpieces too...especially since the 2 quotes I've received so far, but FH is hell bent on flowers...who would have thunk it?

Thats kind of like mine. It's simple and cheap but still looks so elegant. Were you going to use real or fake petals? Here's mine...
I really like the way that looks! If you do want larger candles, they're usually on sale at ac moore, I don't think you'd break the bank if you bought them there

Yeah, thats where I got mine from. And they'll order them by the box for you so you dont have to keep going back and getting more jsut from the shelf.

Re: What do you think of this centerpiece?
My colors are burgundy and ivory, so the table set up will be very similar to that...with burgundy napkins. Since Westbury Manor is all lit up in the winter time, i wanted each table to feel like they had their own personal fireplace....
I'm using real petals...Flowers By Burton is coming in to lay them down on the tables. I'm planning on decorating the candles a little, so I'm going to provide those myself.
How much do pillar candles run at AC Moore, Michael's etc.? I don't really have any near me, so i don't really know...

Don't forget that the votives have to last the length of the reception. How long is there burning time? Pillar candles would last longer. BTW: I love the idea!
