What do you think of this dress..

Ugh..still have so much trouble finding the 'dress'. I must have tried on over 50, and I need to order. Why is it taking me so long? Every dress I like always has something I dont. lol Love this dress below - just not sure about the mermaid aspect - what do you think?

I am also going to post different angles..

Wow, I totally disagree with SO MANY of you! First of all I effing LOVE that dress. It is just GORGEOUS! And maybe some of you didn't try on a mermaid style but I think it can really help hide some unsightly things....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress but please do try it on. If you like it, try on others in similar styles! if you LOVE IT, BUY IT! When it comes to liking a dress except for one thing - that one thing may be able to be altered or changed. Just keep that in mind. I would not touch this dress. I think it is beautiful just the way it is.

I happen to agree with all of the above. I think a Mermaid dress helps to elongate a short body and make it look slimmer and longer than it would in another type of dress. I also think the poof at the bottom balances out hips and helps minimize them. (Okay, I have been watching too much 'What Not to Wear' and I am starting to sound like Stacey and Clinton)

I shyed away from fitted mermaid dresses because I thought that they would not be flattering but they actually are and I am only 5' 4' (on a good day).

I love this dress!!!

That dress is gorgeous-- I think that the mermaid dress is a matter of taste, not so much the body type. I am 5'2 and I am wearing a Melissa Sweet mermaid style dress and it was the most flattering dress on me that I tried on. If you are 5'7 im sure this style dress can work for you as well. Not everyone has to go with a ballgown!!

I would definitely GET IT. That is the dress I am wearing for my wedding and it is very versatile. You can take the lace jacket off during the Reception and either remove the sash in the middle (which is very thin), or add a colored or thicker sash. You can also make a few changes here and there if you want to make the skirt fuller, a higher mermaid or a lower mermaid.

I'm sure you would look like a goddess in it with your height. Good luck with your mom. Have fun.
