I know I want to give food as a favor (lots of OOT guests who will be flying in). I had planned on giving some sort of chocolate. The last time I was home visiting, I realized there is something that I ALWAYS get in NY that I can NEVER find anywhere else.
I have always loved (and FI has now developed a love of too) black and white cookies from a bakery. NOT the crap that Costco makes, nor the stuff that's wrapped in cellophane. I mean the honest-to-goodness, came from a bakery black and whites.
Mom wasn't too thrilled at the idea ('..all of YOUR family is already in NY - why would they care about those cookies...').
I could just have them as a dessert item at the reception, I suppose. BE HONEST- what do you think about giving BNW cookies, maybe wrapped in little bakery boxes....?

I love the idea. One of the 04 girls gave a black and white cookie as the favor with their monogram on it. I think her screen name is DKWife. I remember seeing the pictures. People love edible favors. And wrapped in a little bakery box would be the cutest!

I feel the same way about Black and Whites as you--both FH and I LOVE them, and while in Indiana for 4 years, I missed them terribly. We decided to put them in our OOT bags, so I think as a favor they'd be awesome--esp if you can get them monogramed or personalized in some way! Good Luck!

Black and white cookies are a fantastic favor - I'm a New Yorker and I'd love a black and white cookie as a wedding favor. . . now I'm tempted to put some in my OOT gift bags!
