a week of so ago i posted about my mom wanting me to ask my SIL to be in the bridal party. i spoke to FH about it & he came up with a good idea.
since her two daughters will be the flower girls, we can have her walk down the aisle with them. that way she can pick out a dress which she will be more comfortable in & will fit their budget better. then my brother will walk my mom down the aisle.
what do you think of this idea??? -i like it because its something different that i have never seen before. plus it will ensure that the two girls get down the aisle. they will be 6 & 3 in 2010.

JMO - I don't like it. I think its so much cuter just seeing the little flower girls making it down the aisle. But I think its really nice that your brother will walk your mother down the aisle.

I think if the girls will have trouble getting down the aisle by themselves, then its a good idea. If you think they can handle it though, I think it would be cute if it was just the two of them. Is there anything else your SIL can do? Maybe a reading?

I agree... imo i think its good if you are pretty sure they won't be able to make it down on their own.
i feel like it just takes away from the flower girls

i don't think they will make it down the aisle on their own. i personally don't think its cute when they run the other way or start crying. (i am a bit of a perfectionist.)
i was going to have my SIL hand out the programs & bubbles or rice at the end of the ceremony but my mom didn't like that idea.

a 6 year old should be able to make it down the aisle...i mean seriously, its not like she is in diapers....but the 3yr old i can see being an issue, but if her sister is next to her, she should be able to do it.
our ring bearers are will be 2 1/2yrs old....and our flower girl will be 5....the flower girl thinks this is her wedding, she is quite the diva.
i think it just depends on your nieces, are they the type to cry if mom or dad aren't near by??

my cousin got married and her sister had a daughter sos he made her niece the flower girl and her mother walked her i think it looked really nice

i think it would be better to have the girls walk down alone.. and its your wedding, not your moms...who cars if your mom doesnt like the idea?? its not her wedding to plan. do what YOU want and what makes YOU happy...you cant please everyone 100%...just yourself.

yes both girls are extremely shy. they also compete with each other a lot so i am afraid they will start yelling & pulling hair.

i feel like its making your FSIL a make shift bridesmaid by having her walk down the aisle with the kids, especially in a different dress than the rest of the BMS... sorry. JMHO.

I think it's a good idea...especially if you are really searching for a good way to include her. I dont think it will take away from the flower girls...everyone will pay attention to them anyway.
