Should we hand out the giveaways?
Think lais, sungasses, moracas, etc

IS it to sweet sixteen/bat mitzvah???

I voted Nay (well duh, there are only 2 votes both for Nay). But I do agree that might be too sweet 16, unless you have a lot of kids coming to the wedding. Then it would be appropriate.

I voted yay b/c it gets people on the dancefloor and helps people who on't dance well-- it gives them a false sense of confidence. Well, there's some wedding psychology for you!

I voted no, I don't really like them. In all the things I have gone to that have giveaways- you hold them for one song and then you don't know what to do with them so they wind up all over the place - on the side of the dance floor, on tables, chairs, etc.

I voted yay, we had them and everyone loved it!!!!! We had leis, hats, and maracas; it was something w/out being too much!! And it really made for some fun pics!!

We are having them the last 2 hrs. of the wedding.

Originally I did not believe any giveaways should be done for this very reason however since them I've been to soo many weddings and the guests loved them.

I guess it depends on what vibe you are trying to accomplish. Me, personally - I think a wedding should be elegant, so I wouldn't do it. If you are going for a more laid-back and fun vibe, then go for it!

actually that was the first thing i said to my DJ when i met him - i think i scared him a little bit!!

ETA: i agree, i want my wedding to very elegant. . . so i am not doing some of that 'party' stuff like give aways and light shows

i think it depends on the crowd... i didnt do the poll b/c of it..

will you have friends and fam dancing all night anyway??

will you have kids there??

we arent handing anything out b/c we know our drunk friends will make it fun w/o props..
