What do you think your wedding is costing you after everything is done?

I was hoping 20-25000, but its looking to be like 40-45000

Are all of you brides and FH's paying for your wedding yourselves? We are paying our own way and cannot even fathom the amounts you guys are spending...Keep in mind Ladies, that there is more to life than just your wedding day...what about after the wedding day?!

The hall alone is costing us around 39,000. So I am hoping not to go over 60,000. I really don't like to think about it. But I guess thats the price you have to pay when you have big families.

we are, that's why we can only spend less than 10000.

We were going to pay ourselves, but then both families offered to contribute. That hasn't changed our budget, but it makes things A LOT easier on us. We decided on our budget before hand, and it was something we could cover and allowed us to have everything that was important to us. The family contributions will just help us save more for a house.

It's tough to compare different budgets because different people have different amounts their comfortable with, different situations and different salaries.

We originally budgeted for about 40K....but now it's looking like 65Kish... But it's ok....cause right before the wedding, i'm planning to start playing the lotto...BIG TIME!! so it should be all good!!

WOW looking at the the amounts you guys are spending gave me a headache.lol I am no where near those figures. Having that money after your married is more important, don't go too crazy ladies.

We are probably around 35-40K with everything!!!-I'm not willing to spend anymore or I'll have it in my back yard with a tent!!!

Around $35,000 to $40,000 with everything.

About $40000, with everything. I did not add all of the little things...it would have made me vomit. Not sure I will now either. It makes me feel good to estimate this amount.

I would never go into debt for a wedding. I hope none of you are. We are older and need to think about our immediate house buying future. Therefore, we collectively made a decision to have the wedding ensuring that we would have enough money afterwards to by a house hopefully. If we did not have the money, we would never have had the wedding.

Ditto for me too, except that we got our hall for a steal and will probably have about 150-180 people.... it's all going to depend on how many OOT people come and that's a BIG chunk of our guest list..... with EVERYTHING we should be under 20K. still makes me sick though.....that's a lot of money.
