What do you tip food delivery people?

I'm not sure what the rule is on this, so input is appreciated.

Re: What do you tip food delivery people?

i guess it depends on the place (and if theres a delivery charge?) - for pizza and chinese we usually do about $2 and change

Yeah me too...usually the change from the total bill, then 2 or 3 more dollars.

Re: What do you tip food delivery people?

Considering the pizza delivery guy can walk to our place in 5 minutes, $2.

Re: What do you tip food delivery people?

15-20% of the bill. This is my standard for most service.

Re: What do you tip food delivery people?

We tipped 10% on a bbq food delivery that was around $60 and got a look of death from the delivery man. Guess he was expecting more like 15-20%. He didn't do any more work than the pizza delivery man who gets $2-3 (in fact, the pizza seems harder to carry) but I guess we were off the mark.

Re: What do you tip food delivery people?

FH used to deliver chines food so we always tip well when it delivered

especially with gas prices soaring...its always their responsibility to fuel up...and i know he only made $4 an hour so he survived on the tips
