what do you write on the inner envelope?

I know the outer one is Mr. and Mrs. so and so

how do you write the names on the inner??

Inner: Mr. & Mrs. Smith


The less formal way is:
Inner: Jane & John Smith

Were doing the formal way too!

I mixed it up. For most of the adults and my father's friends, etc, I did the formal way on the inner envelope.

For people we were very close to, I put what we call them. Like 'Aunt Bev & Ken' and 'Grandpa & Sylvia' -- I was printing them at home myself so I had that freedom.
