I have appts tomorrow at proline, velvet and lavendar.. need to know whether I'm getting all I can get or if I should look at more vendors after tomorrow. Truly havent a clue what I really want but I know we can't spend more than $4K. So what can you get for that?

I don't know exactly what you would be able to get, but for that amount of money, it should be the top package they offer.
I would suggest that you ask for their prices first before you give them your budget (just tell them you aren't sure what to allot for videography until you see what they offer and what suits your need best).
I know my Viedographer has a PREMIUM package that is almost $5,000 which has EVERYTHING; several DVD's for parents and you, fully edited version of your day with songs, interviews, special effects (not the cheesy ones, but the documentary style ones), etc. You can look into each person's website to see what you would like and what you absolutely want on your day. You may not even need to spend that much once you see what is out there.

I booked with Duet and I am getting photo/video package and I am paying 4,100 with tax included, I am really happy with them they take AMAZING pictures and their video wsa veryyy well put together!!!! Make an appointment to see if you like them!!! XOXOXO Kitty

We're using velvet... and our package came out to $5500 (for photo/video).
We get A LOT in that package though... and we simply told Bob all of the things we wanted and he drew up a package for us. I'm sure that if you begin by telling him your budget, he can work out a package that suits whatever you need!

This is our package:
11x11 storybook album with 100 photos minibook (exact miniature replica of your album) 2 5x7 albums for parents 100 thank yous 1 16x20 3 8x10 2 5x7 all proofs and negatives (at least 500) all proofs on CD 2 photographers free engagement session with proofs on CD
thats 4000.
i'm also getting video with them... you get 3 edited DVDs and 1 copy of the unedited footage on DVD also...
the total for photo + video is 5500.

I am definitely going to check out velvet studios. I actually had an appt today with Bob; but I got lost and had to get back home. But I'll be calling him to set up another appt. Sounds like most people are happy with his work.
