Just figures that this year when i am trying to save I have like 6 weddings to attend. Just wondering what everyone is planning on giving if they are attanding weddings, I am gonna go broke!

Re: What does everyone give at weddings?
I usually try to cover the plate...but that can be expensive..You give what you can afford... Sometimes i try to judge according to what some gave to my sister for her wedding and base it on that... But at the end...do only what you can afford

Re: What does everyone give at weddings?
My rule is $100 per person. Unless I'm totally broke, I usually give more if I'm in the wedding party and/or its a very close friend/relative getting hitched.

We give between $200-$300. For a close friend I also sent (2) of her china placesettings. I do not change the amount based on where the event is held.

Re: What does everyone give at weddings?
I try to cover the plate. If the wedding is at a fancy expensive hall, around $200 per person, if it's not, I'll adjust the gift to cover what I think the wedding costs per person but won't give less than $100 per person.

Re: What does everyone give at weddings?
For me and my Fh together, usually between 200 - 300. If Im in the bridal party I will give more. Luckily for us, we have no weddings this year, but ours so we get to save a little!!
I always cover our plates and add something for a gift. Usually comes between $250.00 - 300.00. For family or close friends it will be more.

Thats what i thought but i mean 200 isnt even enough to cover my plates so i will probably give 250 or more.

Re: Do you all wanna come to my wedding :-)
My sister has 9 weddings from February up to mine in November - and her own in January! She crocheted blankets for everybody! It sounds crazy, but she works the overnight at a sleep lab so she has a lot of down time. Saved her a ton of money.....

Re: What does everyone give at weddings?
Tara,
All of my friends are getting married this year too. We have 7 weddings!
We all decided on a 'no gift' policy. We will not be giving each other envelopes at each other's wedding because it's like getting that same cash back that you spent in the first place, and alleviates the 'Well, I wasn't planning on giving that much to these people, but now I have to since they gave us that.' See what I mean? Everyone thought it was a great idea. Maybe you guys could do the same thing. It really has helped a lot since we have 3 weddings before us and 3 weddings after us.
We did do shower gifts though.

Re: What does everyone give at weddings?
I cover my plate and give a little more like aug9bride so I'm actually giving them a gift. It's very expensive but I hope they all remember what I gave when it comes to my wedding, hahaha.

Re: What does everyone give at weddings?
Usually around $300, less if I go alone. I do try to adjust for the location but I don't go crazy.
When my MOH or brother gets married I will give a lot more.
