Re: What does everyone think of?
we didn't have an engagement party, and I wanted a jack and jill shower. My BM's and mom weren't interested in that though, so I got a traditional shower, which I still enjoyed.

We didnt have an engadgement party Yet.. I guess since we had so many deaths in the past year it prolonged it all..Plus my fiance's lil brother has been very sick .. Back and forth with the hospital...
I like the whole Jack and Jill idea...
Anyone have one?

Clueless here....what is a Jack and Jill shower...is that another term for a 'couples shower?'

Re: What does everyone think of?
Jack and Jill showers are great for couples who a) do not have an e-party or b) do not have large families c) have a shower at someone's home.If my moms had to pay for guys at my shower too, it would have been way too much. I think it all depends on who is throwing the shower and where. I also think most guys do not enjoy the whole 'open china and glasses' for hours type showers.
I never wanted one. I always dreamed of my shower being a traditional one with all females, but there is nothing wrong with a couple shower if that is what you want.

Re: What does everyone think of?
My FSIL got married in Bermuda and a lot of the family could not afford to go, so my FILs threw them a Jack & Jill so everyone could celebrate with them. I thought it was perfect in that situation. I personally wouldn't want one.

Re: What does everyone think of?
I like the idea, but I really want a traditional shower with just the 'girls'.

Re: What does everyone think of?
I guess I get the best of both worlds...coworkers here in Texas are throwing a couples happy hour type thing so everyone doesn't have to sit around and watch us open presents, but it is still a shower. And then I will have the girls only one when I am home in November. No surprises here...just one of the issues with planning from long distnace

Re: What does everyone think of?
I must say, I'm selfish like that.
I want my shower to be all about me
I don't even want gifts off the registry. I want personal items like lingerie, candles, lotions. . . Just for me, let my FH have his own shower
However, on the other side of the coin, I don't mind 'attending' someone else's Jack & Jill at all, and it is actually a cute idea.
