What does one wear to a movie premier?

What does one wear to a movie premier?

I'm really excited, FH's company just offered us tickets to a movie premiere tomorrow night and it sounds really cool but I've never been to one and don't know what to wear Any ideas? I'm going straight from school so if you girls say a ball gown or something I am NOT going!

It's called the good shephard (sp?) It sounds really cool its with angelina jolie and matt damon

i would probably just dress nice, simple black dress or skirt

yea I think it's like the actual premiere that the stars of the movie go to, it's at lincoln center and it's hosted by some film society that robert deniro is part of and he is the director of the movie. I'm not sure of the exact details, and neither is FH so im confused

Oooh fun, Jess!

Well, honestly...I went to one (by lincoln center) and everyone was wearing jeans.....

I would say wear a nice pair of pants and a nice shirt or sweater. Even if the movie stars are there, you'll go in a different door with everyone else. I wouldn't go all out for it.

wow Jess! That sounds like so much fun! I agree with Bonnie... wear a cute pair of jeans, some heels and a cute shirt. If you have time, pop over to Forever 21 to pick up something cheap!

I've been to a few, most recently this past summer in Southampton, if I were going to one at Lincoln Center in Dec, I'd wear a cocktail dress and fab, shoes and a cute either a lux or a trendy clutch...

That's so exciting! I have been to two movie premieres a while ago (Red Dragon and Analyze That). They were so much fun! At the Red Dragon premiere, we got to meet the stars and take pictures with them. You'll have an awesome time!

Both times I wore nice dress pants and a nice shirt and heels.

thanks for all your help!! I knew I can count on you girls. I'm so relieved to hear that I don't have to wear a skirt. I'll be sure to bring my camera just in case

Ok so I just got back from the movie premiere! It was such an experience, never been to anything like that before! I tried taking pictures for you girls and the security guy said the next time he sees my camera he's going to keep it, little does he know I ordered a new one for christmas so that would have been ok with me but I wasn't getting into it. Anyway, I saw EVERYBODY! Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Robert DeNiro, more people that I didnt recognize but they were some sort of famous
Anyway, thanks for all your input on the attire, I was dressed fine although there was an after party and there were women in cocktail dresses but they were snooty anyway, and I am not. I guarantee you I was the only person there wearing a shirt from kohls
