What does the Maitre D tip include

My friend mentioned to me that it includes the waiters & bartenders & I dont have to tip these people separately- is that the case?

yes, i believe so. You just tip the Maitre D and then he splits it with the staff. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but thats what we plan on doing!

i was wondering this too. my mom keeps telling me i should tip the bartenders separately.

I think it depends on the hall. I had my meeting with Lombardi's the other night and asked if i need to tip the bartenders and valet- and he said absolutely not.

my RH told me no tipping anyone.. i put the cash $3 per person in an envelope when i give the final count and they will distribute it from there.. did anyone else hear this??

also all my vendors own their establishments, and only 2 are bringing asstiants.. so it works out.. i think.

I know this has been asked a million times but.... If gratuity is included in your bill you still have to tip the Maitre'd??

if you look into your contract your tips should be included in the bill. You only have to tip the Maire'D and your bridal Attendent if you have one.

I did not tip the bartenders or the servers just the Md and the bridal attendant. I figured everyone else tipped the other people enough (the tip jars were filled when i left).

at my hall the 20% service charge went to the staff and we then had to tip the matre'd and bridal attendant seperatly.

It depends on the hall. Look over your contract to see if it is specified. My hall included the waiters and barstaff and all we had to was tip the Maitre D and Bridal Attendants

You just tip the maitr'd and bridal attendant. Guests will most likely tip the bartenders. It usually doesnt get split as gratuity for the waiters- the maitre'd gets it all (although sometimes he gives like $25 to the captain at some RHs)

The service charge in your pp amount goes to pay the waiters their salary- not a gratuity, but gratuity is not expected. Occasionaly guest will pool a few bucks together for the waiter, but u dont have to.

yeah thats what they told us last week when we had our final meeting. They said the money wont all go to the maitre D so to keep that in mind, it also will get split with BM and other workers

yup, that's what I was told too, same RH. The service charge covered the waitstaff, bartenders, coat check, and valet and the Bridal Attendant and Maitre D were tipped seperately by us at our discretion.

i've never heard of anyone tipping the servers and bartenders separately...that's what the service charge is for.

Our tips for the staff are in the total bill and the maitre d gets an extra tip above at our RH but that is all due at the final count

no service is just salary not with gratuity and yeah many ppl tip the bartenders and servers separately

i forgot to write that we are also tipping the Bridal attendants. I think we have two of them.
