Re: What does this mean?

Sorry, I meant to enter:

I left a $50 deposit with Flowers by Burton to hold my date but now I've decided to go with Signature. But on the bottom of the worksheet from Burton's it says 'in the event of cancellation of the contract after 72 hours you will be charged 10% of the total order plus a $35.00 service charge, or 30% of the total order, whichever is greater'. What does that mean? I went on Wednesday so if I call tomorrow to cancel the date with them they will try to charge me all of this money for doing nothing yet? That's absurd!!! Am I reading this wrong? Do you think I'll get my $50 back? Not that it really matters.

I don't know what it means, but when I asked Burton's about cancellation, they said I get my deposit back if they rebook the date with another bride.

I'm not concerned about losing $50, I just don't want to suddenly get a bill for flowers I never got because I cancelled.

I would call them. They would be ridiculous to charge you all that money.

If you booked on Wednesday then the 72 hours would go into Saturday - so if you call them in the morning tomorrow then you should fall under the 72 hours no matter what.
