I don't need the holiday to know what dh means to me. he shows me everyday. to me, the holiday is a day we could celebrate our special love

nothing. To me it's just a hallmark holiday. DH and I don't celebrate it.

It means Eight wonderful years with my now husband!!!!
I still remember him picking me up at my house and shaking my dad;s hand, giving me a single red rose and a teddy bear!
It was the beginning of our wonderful lifetime together

Valentines Day is a day where DH and I celebrate our love. Sure, we do this every day- but tomorrow we will take time out to remember what a special thing we have together!

Not much really. It's a nice day to celebrate being with DH, but we do that often without a holiday to push us. We also met around this time of year, a few days after Valentine's Day, and I think that means more to us really.
We usually go out to dinner and exchange some small but nice gifts, though this year we did a ski trip and came back a day later than planned (yesterday), so we plan to shelve the whole thing till this weekend. We just don't have time to run around looking for gifts today.

i don't really care for valentine's hallmark meaning. but it's an excuse to possibly get friends and family altogether. we all get so caught up with work and daily things that vday, thanksgivings, x'mas', bdays, etx are all just excuses for me to stop and connect with those i love. besides, you can't beat food accompanied by great a conversation.

It means it's the 14th day of the month of February. That's about it.
I've never celebrated V-day. To me if you love me...you can show me on any day besides the day the calendar tells you to.
The only time I will celebrate this 'holiday' is when we have kids...I'd love to arm them with bags filled with candy...valentines for their friends...cupcakes....

I agree that over time this 'holiday' has become very commercialized but still I look forward to celebrating hundreds of these days with DH. It's a day to make whatever you want of it with each other. I just like it because it's another day to be all mushy!
