What extra things do engineers check? Average costs?

What extra things do engineers check? Average costs?

We got a quote for around $550 (with termite inspection).

Is that average?

They check other things like lead in the water for an extra $75.00? - worth it?

Is there anything I should have them inspect that might be worth it?

We've used the same engineer for two homes now, he is SO THOROUGH... DH and I were sooo impressed by him. I don't remember his exact price, but it was around $450.

We also used one engineer for now THREE friggin houses. He also charges $450 including termite inspection for a small to moderate sized home. But he is amazing & very thorough. He also does the termite inspection. He rates damage on level of urgency for safety as well as what may or may not be up to code. He is very knowledgeable and very in tune to what is acceptable in the currect market. FM me for info if you need
