What extras little touches or 'different' things are you having at your wedding?
And your ceremony.
What little things are you doing to make the day special and unique?
For example -OOT baskets with themes -slipper basket in bathroom
There are so many creative people on here...SHARE!

My Dh and I both come from theatrical backgrounds. So, we wanted to incorporate our love of theatre into our wedding. We also had a Black and White wedding party that became another theme.
We had our rehersal dinner invites made by a ticket company
My DH designed our programs to look like show Playbills
We named the tables after shows that we have done since meeting.
We had DH's best friend ordained online so he could marry us.
Dh and his Best Friend wrote our ceremony.
We wrote our own vows.
We gave B&W cookies as favors because they are so NY and they went with our B&W theme.

we had a lot of handmades...invitations, programs, petal cones...all made by hand by me as well as the cd's we gave as favors. our recessional song was 'all you need is love' like in 'love actually'.

Our ceremony was actually private between our family. Our guests respected our wishes of a 'private ceremony by sitting in the back pews'.
Our vows were custom and included our daughter.
We did not have musy love songs..we had party music.
Our parents cut our wedding cake as a wish of good luck..their anniversary was the day before the wedding.
Also our daughter cut the cake with us..hand in hand as a family.
We had 3 favors, rum cake, Fargo chocolates and engraved frames for family. Special flowerpot chocolate favors for the BP and white orchids in a box for the mothers.
I danced with both my father and my FIL.
My litle sister 12yrs old..gave a speech
Our personal touches were not all physical..mostly emotional and from the heart.

ribbon wands, programs, MAYBE cry-packs, Scroll invitations, flower girl tote bags, votive place cards, flower pens, We Do letters, decorating baskets and FG baskets, cootie catchers (maybe), donation scrolls, can't think of anything alse at the moment . . .

I had scroll invitations I am going to have champagne bottle candles as place cards My favors are gift bags with our log printed on it Included will be a cd of 'our songs', truffles, strawberry champagne (cause it is red) and a candle At the ceremony we will have a petal toss but the petals will be mixed with feathers

I have been working on the things for little personal touches:
- Programs with monogram that I made - Pew bows - Church directional cards with monogram - Ribbons wands with wedding colors - Placecards - Jordan Almond flowers with poem tag - Favor packaging - Donation cards - Menus and menu card holders - Table numbers to match placecards
Also planning to have FH meet me halfway down the aisle so that will be real personal.

So far we only have 2 unique things that we are doing. My FH was in the military and when he got out I bought him his sword so its some kind of military tradition to smack the bride on the butt with teh sword, I dont know about that one yet but we are cutting the cake with the sword and we are putting wedding pics of our parents, grandparents and sister around the sign in table to show the 3 generations of long, lucky marriages.

We had a Jimmy Buffett cover band & designed our menu to be Key West cuisine/tropical cuisine to go with the Buffett theme. We had cupcakes on a tiered platter with hydrangeas between the cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. It was fun feeding each other a cupcake instead of a piece of cake. We had our ceremony and reception at a winery rather than a catering hall, which was awesome. It was beautiful and it was all ours for the whole day!

I will be having emergency baskets in the bathrooms for both men and women---
and I'm also going to have a birthday cake for my dad--since my wedding is the day of his birthday --- I definitely want to do something special for him that day---to announce it and then bring out the cake---

During a friend's wedding, i caught the bouquet and i felt so nervous as the lights were shining right on me. so i decided to have my florist tie 3 toss-away bouquets into one. during the bouquet toss i tossed 3 bouquets surprising the single women! and 3 garter belts tossed by the groom into the hungry men! lots of fun!
AND...
we had two different wedding dates. June 5th and July 3rd.. looong and stressful story. scott and i felt bad that we couldn't have a lot of ppl at our ceremony during june 5th so scott and i had our ceremony photos blown up and hung up all around the reception hall. all of our guests walked around a lot looking at each photograph and in turn sparked some conversations all the while.
