What GM gifts went over well?

...and where did you find them.
I don't know if guys really use a money clip, or a pocket watch - I was thinking personalized swiss army knife pocket set.

I just bought those wallet/money clip ones from Macy's. I bought FH one a few years a go, it's not a full wallet, just for cards and cash, he loved it.

Fossil has them on sale right now for $11.24!!!

They don't have them on sale in the store though, just online don't know why.

We are going to put a gift card in them.

We're a little weird... FH & I cannot stand the traditional GM gifts...not sure why, but we cannot see any of our guys with those items.

We're getting Yankee (Replica) jerseys for the guys...we're doing this whole Yankee line up for the 'walk in'...guys will wear the jerseys then...plus they're all fans, so they'll love it. Even the little ones!

we got sports jerseys for everyone, all different depending on who they like, all from different places online, it was a huge hit and the day after the wedding we had a bbq and some were already wearing them

FI was originally thinking of getting drivers for most of the GM since they all play golf. Nice drivers are pretty expensive though so that option might be out. Since FI's GM are big drinkers, we're thinking of getting them either nice bottles of scotch (their favorite drink of choice) or possibly enrolling them in a beer of the month club for a couple of months. For FI's youngest brother who's 16, FI will probably buy him some video games or something golf or skiing related.

for one who is a surfer we bought a watch that tracks the tides

and for the other who is a pilot (and has everything!) we bought an old fashioned wooden sign that was personalized to say his name 'Dare Devil' with a picture of an old fashioned plane.

I know you don't think a money clip is very useful, but my FI got one from being in my brother's wedding and he uses it all the time. It's really great for going out when you don't want to carry a bulky wallet. The one he got was from Coach and cost $38. Here's a pic:

You know I figured since all the guys who are gm are single I figured why not just pay for the strippers and beer for their own after wedding party. That way we know they would LOVE our gift to them. And it makes life so much easier!

DH hates all those traditional- money clip, mug crap as he put it- he was in a BP and got a money clip and he laughed b/c he would NEVER use it- he also didnt want to get jerseys b/c some of the guys are older- professionals and wouldnt wear them. His GM were from 1 extreme to the other very difficult to buy for, so he got them all something he knows they will ALL use b/c every man wears a tie for an occasion so he got them tie tacks and the BM cuff links. so we decided then to get the dads cuff links too. for 5 tie tacks and 3 cuff links the bill was a little over 1200. We got them at tri- county. It is very difficult to do single ones for each guy and then sometimes the guys yes even guys are sensitive feel favortism or the other got a better gift- its easier to just get them the same thing. and it depends on the age of the guys too, our GM's age ranged from the jr usher who is 15, and the men were 32-47.

Since all our GM's enjoy a good drink, we purchased these Johnny Walker sampler sets. They include the blue, red, black and gold labels.

We were the same way.....it was hard, and wish we could've thought of something a little more original, but we happened to find real nice watches so we got them these....and I must say They all LOVED them!

And our best man, we got him engraved cuff links from Tiffany which he was so excited b/c he said he was gonna buy himself a pair at Macy's and decided not to.......LOL, and a gift card to Rothman's Steak House b/c he loves to eat out and he loves STEAK.

Heres a pic of the watch except we got them with the black face:

My DH didn't give a traditional gift. All of his groomsmen were Yankee fans so he got Yankee t-shirts with their names monogramed on them and then he took them all to a game. It seemed to go over well.

Jenn, that's a great idea. Where did you get that? Our GM are big fans of Johnny Walker and would probably like scotch samples over a beer of the month gift or just 1 nice bottle of scotch. How much was that? Thanks.

I'd like to know this too. I think this is a great gift and I know our GM would LOVE to get this.

Re: What GM gifts went over well?

I purchased them at my local liquor store. I think they were about $80 or $90 if I remember correctly.

We got them Coach wallets (from the outlets). They came to $55 each!

Re: What GM gifts went over well?

I left the gift idea for the GM with my FH. And of course he felt that the regular money clips and other typical GM gifts were not their taste. So he bought them all football jerseys...they all enjoy the sport and he figured they would appreciate it more!
