What happened on the Southern State

The southern state is closed near Route 110. I saw it on news 12 but I didnt know what happened...Anyone know?

yeah, i heard that a guy was threatening to jump off of the 110 overpass.

There were also Nassau County cops near a lot of the entrance ramps on the SS this afternoon around 2:00...very weird bc I usually don't see Nassau Cops on the SSP

I drove past there around 4 and didn't see anything.. what time was this.. I was going Westbound

A coworker told me her DH was on his way home and saw the guy getting ready to jump onto the SSP and he called 911 - moments later there were helicopters cops etc.

It was a disaster driving home today. When I saw 110 filled up, I took the back roads home.

And one of the guys was saying to us around 4:30 that a guy was trying to jump, and everyone was laughing b/c they thought he was doing an April's Fool's Joke....meanwhile, it was true the whole time.

Unless the jacka$$ that was attempting to jump, was his April Fool's joke to everyone else that had to sit in traffic for 2 hours.....

I've seen the cops do this .. usually when there is a large funeral that deserves a clear road.
