me 3, I like the place but they had told me that the food is not that great. Also a couple that was going to have their wedding there told me that they 1st gave them 1 price and then when they brought the deposit they told them a complete different one

I had a tasting there and the food was great. I've also have had many family events there - the food is no worry. I was gonna go down there to take some pics but I've been held up at work. I'll go tonight or tomorrow and def put up pics for you guys...

who told you the food wasn't good? We had a food tasting before we booked...you can do that. Also they wrote the whole estimate out on paper so no problem when we went back to book.....in fact they threw in a few things when we did book.

Im just repeating what they told me. I met this person when I was going to a conference and we where talking about RH and weddings and when I mention that I like the Tatched cottage that's what she said.

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion, but I had my reception at the Thatched Cottage on 5/5 and I think everything was AMAZING! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Everyone loved the cocktail hour at our wedding and we enjoyed everything we ate. I also enjoyed our entrees and when we got married, guests had a choice of 7 entrees. I typically don't enjoy food at the reception, but I did eat at ours and I loved whatever I could manage to eat before I had to mingle more.
I'm finishing up my review, but if anyone is getting married there, DO NOT WORRY! I am an easy-going person in general, but they really did a fantastic job!

Same here - especially about the food! That's the one thing that I always hear people RAVING about. No matter where you go, though, you'll never find a place where every event is perfect, I guess. Sorry that you had such a bad experience, but for the ladies that are booked there, we went there for a tasting and the food was out of this world, the grounds were beautiful & the staff was really very friendly - I'm sure that you'll have a beautiful day!
