Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

I already explained that we were revisiting this thread and removing derogatory and defaming remarks.

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

Does that mean it will be back up soon, once those remarks have been removed??

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

Maybe Cindy should just post that anyone who wants to know her side can send her a forum mail. thats the best way to handle it.

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

Cindy's post should be around for anyone who wants to do a search in the coming months. New brides will have no idea what happened and will not know to FM Cindy.

This seems to be a regular occurance with posts that dont sing the praises of LI Vendors. Its not fair to new brides to do a search and see only raves about a vendor when in fact there are negative experiences too.

Stef, that is my point exactly, that is why when we could not find it yesterday, we sent out the troops Why this one POST???

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

I agree with Stef. We should be able to take the good and bad comments and make our own decisions. Personally I chose a company that I've heard many good things about but also many bad. I appreciate hearing the bad b/c that is what I will talk to the company about. That was the best part of this board....hearing good and bad

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

But this post stayed up for a little while, with Cindy's original comment. Perhaps we can keep that post and remove whatever derogatory info was posted.

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

Why do you always assume things. It was taken down because the brides went over board. So I guess we all know better now. (hopefully)

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

Well my post disappeared!! I don't appreciate that!! what i said WAS A JOKE!! ridiculous!

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

I am sorry, what are we making an assumption about?

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

did you guys read the other thread about this that LIWeddings posted on? They're not removing the whole thread or all of cindy's comments. just editing out posts that were overboard. anyone who does a search then will still see her problem .. they just wont have to go through reading derogatory stuff in Addition to the original problem.

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

where the other thread you're talking about? I haven't seen it.

edited cause I found LI Weddings response:
If something happens that you want to state as a matter of fact, fine. But, when you start mixing emotions etc with the thread it gets out of hand. Cindy's initial post was a matter of fact post. But, what happened yesterday (with a few not all) was IMHO an example of brides at their worst. I was extremely disappointed in a few. We will be re-visiting the thread and removing certain posts. This is not supposed to be a rah rah thread where people who know nothing more that what is posted by one side to get on a bandwagon and start defaming someone. We will be updating the rules and explicitly standing by them.

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

From the dictionary:

derogatory - adj : expressive of low opinion; 'derogatory comments'

LIWeddings, isn't the purpose of this site for brides and newlyweds to express their opinions and experiences to one another - good or bad?? So, if a bride has a less-than-glowing opinion of a vendors' service, their contributions are not welcomed on your site?

defame - 1) to damage the reputation, character, or good name of by slander (spoken) or libel (written). 2) to disgrace.

LIWeddings, defaming a vendor is a whole other issue. You cannot accuse someone of libel or slander IF what they say is THE TRUTH!

My hubby is a journalist and he lives everyday having to protect his publication against libel, so I know what I am talking about.

If you are so concerned about LIBEL on your site, than why not have Cindy post the ACTUAL EMAIL that Verdi sent her, and have Verdi hang themselves for all to see???

Well said.

LIWeddings says, 'But, what happened yesterday (with a few not all) was IMHO an example of brides at their worst. I was extremely disappointed in a few.'
LIWeddings, you were disappointed with a few brides for expressing their opinions? How about being disappointed in you vendor??
Claud2001 Posted:

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

EvanEdan, that's good point. This site would not exist without the brides and newlyweds b/c who needs a bunch of vendors all talking to themselves?

However, I am sure [contractually] LIW is prohibited from making any such comments [being disappointed] about the vendors who advertise here.

Re: What happened to the Verdi post?

I don't think that anyone posted anything untrue or unfair. Should we only posted our happy comments? We can help build good businesses but not comment on bad business.
