What happens at your hall if you dont .....

make your minimum?

We need 125 but I think only about 100 can make it! What happens?

you pay for 125 whether you meet it or not.... i would recommend inviting lots of friends to make it

dont stress, most will come between Jan 6th - 8th I bet. I would then make phone calls to who you really want to come that didnt rsvp.

And since you pay for the minimum no matter what, see if your hall can throw in a few extras for you - like an extra station at cocktail hour, or more desserts or a chocolate fountain. You're paying for it, so they might be able to give you something for it.

Talk to your hall. They'll work something out with you. Most do. I stressed too. Don't worry.

Also most places will let you count vendors to meet your minimum. Find out if your hall does this.

we almost didn't make it. they told us we could use our vendor meals to make the minimum.

I know one bride started inviting girls from LIWs to attend. If there are some people on here that your close too and you just can't fill that seat, ask a few of them in a FM. Hey its better than the food going to waste. And you get to have another person on here telling everyone how great your wedding was!

Awww dont stress! You'll probably get a lot more responses in the next 2 weeks. Maybe invite some more people - if you're paying for 150 either way - invite the people you werent sure about in the first place.

I had 9 people cancel the night before. My hall did not charge me. Also, I started with a guarantee of 170 and ended up knocking it down to 140. We ended up with 121! The hall did not charge us. It's worth calling them to negotiate.

I still think you have time. You will probably make your minimum either way.

Two things: they will throw in extra stuff, or you can apply the money towards the maitre-d's tip. I think the second one is for last minute cancellations.
