Re: What happens if you want flowers that are not in season
I am a 2002 bride...so I know I am not super active on BHB anymore, but with a snowy night I thought I could help.
Depends on the type of flower. Some out of season flowers might not look very good out-of-season, others can be very expensive or near impossible to get.
I used Burtons for my flowers and they were wonderful! You don't pay for the type of flower, just for the type of arrangement/boo-k. That might be a good vendor for you to try.
What exactly are you looking for?

Depending on the flower, they can get it, but yes, the price will be nice!

2 weeks prior to my wedding per bundle of lily of the valley cost $12. during the day of my wedding it became 'out of season' and the price shot up to $40 per bundle and i needed 5 =( you would have to place an order for them. i bought my flowers from the flower district.

You have to be careful because I lot of florists will claim to be able to get them when you sign the contract, but then will not able to produce on their promises. Also, if you want an out of season flower, I would definitely hire a more well known florist who has pull.

I know some big vendors will FLY in the flowers.....all at a cost. You may have to go to a Manhattan florist for that.
