one of the bridemaids is an out of towner and can not make it to the shower, Does she still help pay for the shower??????
After being a BM 4 times for both local and OOT weddings I feel like I am an expert. It's part of the responsibility to help pay for the shower. I wouldn't say 'Yes' if I couldn't afford it. Although I voted for not an equal share because there are expenses that occur that the ones planning it will have. But favors, food and Gifts should be shared.
I would let her off the hook. She has enough to pay for with travel expenses.
i've been a BM 6 times and helped pay for only 1 shower (and that was b/c her mother is deceased). i am probably in the minority here, but i don't think the BM's should HAVE to pay for the shower. if they can afford to help pay for it and want to, then by all means they should go ahead. if it will be a strain on their budgets, i think they should contribute in a different way.
