What happens when one of your officiants thinks your name is Sarah when it is not....

We have both a Rabbi and a Priest officiating our wedding. We met with the Priest yesterday to go over the ceremony details and he insisted on calling me Sarah. (My name is Rachel). FH corrected him a few times, but the Sarah comments continued...

I can picture my wedding now... Rabbi will be calling me Rachel, Priest will be calling me Sarah and everyone will think FH has two wives...

I dont know if i should be laughing or crying...

I would call him up and have a formal conversation about it.

When my parents got married, the priest only read their middle names so instead of Lisa Marie and James John getting married, Marie and John got married that day!!!

They laugh about it today, but I'm sure they weren't thrilled lol.

My officiant called me 'Veronica' but that was only once. He had it written down at the ceremony and managed to get it right. Hopefully he'll write it down!

I would just call him and have a little chat. It's something if he slips once during the ceremony but if he's calling you Sarah on your wedding video you're not going to be happy.

When I went to FBIL's wedding his wife's name is Rachelle and he called her Michelle during the vows and then at my friend's wedding her name is Stacey and after the sand ceremony he called her Sandy. So it happens but I wouldn't be happy if it was the entire ceremony.

It was incredible awkward at the meeting. He did get it right a few times. oy...

And its not like I can get a new one, there are only so many priests who will agree to marry a jewish girl to a catholic boy and perform the ceremony outside of the church...

FH already said he'd make sure he has it right. I think he feels the pressure because he's the reason we're having a priest so he doesnt want me to blame him.

Sarah and Rachel arent even close. Just because they are both biblical names?
