First check the contracts. Cancellation policy should be spelled out.
some will not refund the money unless another party books for that date and time.
BUT - if you do cancel, keep checking with the RH to make sure the place has been re-booked,

same thing - check their contracts.
Sorry to hear that you might cancel.

Sorry to hear you might be cancelling!!!

All the vendor contracts should have their cancellation policy on their contracts. Unfortunately, many times you are obliged to pay all or at least a large portion of what you would have paid if you didn't cancel. Good luck.

it says it in ALL your contracts, they have the cancellation policies on them

For RH, if its suffolk then youre lucky bc they have a law that you get all your money back except $100...if its nassau then its harder, it will depend on the place...Some will give you your money back or some of it if they find someone else to book your date, others will even ask you for some of the balance you would've owed.

Again just read your contracts.

Some vendors i read on my contract they keep the deposit

OH WAIT i just saw your wedding date, i know with suffolk it was if you cancel 6 months ahead of time, so not 100% sure if the money back thing applies, i think it still does well hopefully it still applies

and if its nassau, they do it by time periods if you cancel a year ahead of time youll owe like 25%(not the exact numbers just giving an example)
if you do 6 months before you'll still owe 50% and less than that can be between 50-75%...CALL YOUR RH ASAP

I think the suffolk rule is that you get your money back except 100 if you cancel 6 months b/4 your wedding date, so make sure you check first.

here is a post from b/4
cancelling RH in Suffolk

if your hall is in Nassau, maybe you can get your money back (not deposit) if RH find someon rebook the date.

Good Luck

Check your contracts. Sometimes RH are reasonable and allow you to use the amount that you have given them for another date. It also depends if they are able to fill that date.

If the RH is in Suffolk County, there is a law with regards to money paid to RH and the party being cancelled but I don't remember the exact law.

Hope it all works out for you.
