I am faxing my resume to someone..

Type it out that way, if you can. That is normally what I put. I include the cover page in the count so that if pages are missing they will know exactly what's missing.

You can find fax cover letter templates on Microsoft's website. Just do a search for 'templates'...

Include your phone # as well, just in case all pages didn't get over through the fax.
