Re: what is...
i am not nubride. now i feel really lame....I can assume the diaper genie is for dirty diapers. But what is a diaper depot then. And receiving blankets just look like regular blankets to me. I don't get what is 'receiving' about them. I guess Baby Einstein is a learning tape or something, but I don't really know . And a wipe warmer - do wipes come in that? Or you fill it? It's just to warm up baby wipes?

Re: what is...
A receiving blanket- small thin blanket used to swaddle a newborn or cover an infant. Have you ever seen the blankets the hospital uses when the baby is first born- usually white with a pink and blue stripe. This is a receiving blanket.Receiving Blanket
A diaper genie & A diaper depot - They are two different brands of the same thing. They are diaper diposal systems you can use to keep the diapers from smelling up the room.
Diaper Genie
Diaper Depot
A wipe warmer - heated container to store the wipes.
List of wipe warmers
Baby Einstein- a brand of videos, music and books designed to intellectually stimulate your little one using classical music, shapes, letters, etc.. There are many titles like Baby Mozart, Bach, and Neptune.
Baby Einstein website
I will update this with links for you in a few minutes.

Re: what is...
thanks!
I don't need links - I know what they all look like . I just didn't know what they really were utilized for.I don't know why I don't know any of this stuff...the only role model I have is my sister, and she was completely simplistic in all ways.
Diapers went in plastic garbage bags, wipes were cold, sesame street and classical music...

Re: what is...
By no means do you need any of these things. I highly reccommend the receiving blankets at least for the first few months. They are easy to wrap the baby in and very soft. I use the diaper genie at home and save produce bags to dispose of the diapers when I am out. I use regular classical cd's when the baby is going to sleep. I got 3 Einstein DVD's for my shower and she loves all of them. I do not allow her to watch any TV yet, but she is mezmorized by these videos. They keep her happy while I shower. She watched them from her bouncer seat and now walks around the living room or her crawl and cruise (a toy) while she watches. You could use any TV shows, tapes, or none at all.

Re: what is...
Jenny- NEVER say 'my poor child'. Your daughter is lucky to have a Mommy like you.I love the Baby Eistein books (Baby Eistein is just a company) too. I registered for 3 of the DVDs.
Read the reviews on the BRU site and see what other moms say about the products, plus go to the stores and play with them yourself.
Don't worry you will figure all of this out.
