We were quoted 2.25 per set (outer, inner and response card). Is that a fair price?

The place we went to yesterday is asking $3.50 for calligraphy and a buck for regular printing. We are leaning on regular printing because to be honest with you...no one really look closely with the invitations. When someone receive an invitation the first thing they do is to look at the date/time/place and attire...no one I know look closely to the writing.

I'm using Michele Clark... She charges $1.25 for the set and her work is GREAT. She sent me a ton of samples with our names and addresses and has been so nice and easy to work with so far.

I think that the quote you got is more middle of the road in terms of the quotes I got for hand done calligraphy overall. I mean, if compare it to just Michele's price only it seems really high but I also got quotes for $2.50 per set up to $4.50 per set!! So, to me, the 3-4 dollar range is on the high side, the 2 dollar range is in the middle of the road and the $1.00, $1.25- $1.50ish is a great deal.

Her email is: [email protected]

Highly recommend but hurry-- she books up SO fast that I almost didn't get a spot!

If they charge one dollar for computer printing you are better off, at that rate, going with someone like Michele Clark or Wendy Trout who charge like $1.00-$1.25 per set, HTH.

I just got a quote from her and her price was higher than that. I was quoted $1.50 per set, plus if I want the inner envelopes informal (e.g. 'Mary and John' instead of 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith') then .25 more for inner envelopes.

Still a great price though and I liked the samples she sent me.
