What is a Ketubah?

I've seen it posted and I know it has to do with a Jewish ceremony. Just wondering what it was?
Thanks!

A marriage contract signed before the ceremony. I believe it is usually framed and displayed. Not sure what it says, though.. I'm not Jewish

It can say any number of things. As I understand it, the traditional Ketubah talks about how the groom is expected to treat the bride properly, and support her in the lifestyle to which she is accustomed. However nowadays it can say just about anything, as there are interfaith texts for the Ketubah, even.

If you're really interested in what they might say, you could probably get sample texts at ketubahketubah.com.

I think that's really nice. It's like having a permanent copy of your vows.

Thank you!
