What is a 'point' on a bustle?

They told me my bustle would be a certain amount per point. What does that mean and any idea how many 'points' are typically in a french bustle?

I don't know how many points in a french bustle but I do know that a point is where the train attaches to the dress to make the bustle. Some bustle have one attachment (point) or some have many points or attachments..here's a link to a bustle bio from the knot:
