I am working with a bakery on my FH's groom's cake and they asked me what my budget was. It's going to be served at the Rehearsal Dinner which will have about 40 people. I don't know what to write back because I never ordered a speciality cake like this before. What kind of prices have you ladies been quoted?

i think it really depends on the style. $150 is a reasonable price to stay within as long as you're not going like crazy over-the-top with your design. Mine is very detailed so that's why it was around $200

Cets, where did you go to get your cake? I had shown a picture of a very simple cake that would feed 25 people and I was given $400 - $500. Which is ridiculous.

I'm paying $180 for a very detailed grooms cake that feeds 40 and a large birthday cupcake that feeds 12 (my mom's birthday is the day of the rehearsal)
