What is done at a 'finalizing meeting' at the catering hall?

I have a meeting scheduled for May 21. What happens in these meetings? Does anyone have a list of questions to ask your catering hall at this stage?

Hello again Busybee...I replied to your other post about florists..Anyway, I just had my meeting with Leonards and they pretty much go over everything once again. They also discuss menu including any changes you might want to add or take off. They also discuss cake, BTW they try to sell you the upgraded cakes. They also want 70% of the total, so bring a check..lol... They also explain step by step how the wedding will unfold..

I asked about other parties/weddings that may be taking place that day just so that I am not surprised. I knew when I booked Leonard's that there would be other parties/weddings taking place but I just wanted to be sure.

Oh BTW, they changed the renaissance cocktail hour..be sure you ask for the fruit display as it was previously included and now it is not. I made sure it was included in mine (at no additional charge) since it is on my initial menu.

You finalize the menu, we paid the remaining balance and gave the final count, you give them any accessories (cake topper, guest book, toasting flutes, cake servers, etc.) favors and placecards to put out on the tables. You let them know who your other vendors are and what time they will be showing up (if they don't know the vendors, it might be good to give them a contact #)

I had my 'finalaizing meeting' at Leaonrd's about a month ago.
I was looking over my initial menu given to me when I signed with them about 9 months ago. I realized that they have added the penne rigate filletto di pommodoro con bracciole and neptune's treasure chest bounty as an upgraded selection (appetizer selection).
I was not aware of this upgraded selection until now.
I am planning on changing my appetizer selection to the original menu I was given.

Also, what fruit selection was in the initial reception menu and is now not on the updated menu?

I still don't have a final guest count. I have an estimate (~120p), so I don't know if we'll be able to do a seating chart, but I guess we can settle the menu (appetizer, salad, etc).

I'll bring the check to finish paying for the 70%, and also I will let them know about my vendors (at least the ones I have so far: photo, video, dj). I still need the flowers and the limos.

I've never seen the cakes @ Leonards. I have no idea what they look like. If they're too plain, I will upgrade it.

I have the Renaissance CH. Whoever has the most recent listing of all the dishes offered, can you please FM it for me?

Did any of you prepare a list of questions to ask the Leonard's people?
