One of my best friend's and I bought our mothers tickets for the 4 of us to go see Mamma Mia together

FMIL just re-joined Weight Watchers, so I made a basket of all different WW goodies and gadgets for her.

FH and I are also hosting a bbq for our families.

Re: What is everyone...

I was suppossed to be in Florida with my mom and grandma for Mother's Day, but my grandma is terminally ill and my mom (she's a nurse) advised me to kind of wait out this swine flu issue, because if I carried it down there my grandma would definitely catch it. (You can carry it but not get sick)

My mom doesn't worry about...anything, really. I guess I'm like her in that regard. So the fact that she was concerned about this made me reschedule my plans. She's a hospice nurse, so she's completely knowledgeable in these kinds of things - family coming from far away to visit a terminally ill patient and such.

I had printed out like 40 photos from the Swan Club and had their DVD, and my mom and I were going to show all of that to my grandma and throw her a little tea party with scones and jam and just kind of have the day together. That can all wait, but I just hope that I can show her all of that stuff. She really wants to see it because she knows she won't be here for my wedding. If it looks like travel is out of the question, I'll mail all of that stuff to my mom and have her show grandma.

In the meantime, I bought them both humorous 'mom'-type books and cards and sent those down to FL. Nothing big...in hopes of celebrating Mother's Day a little late this year with them.

Re: What is everyone...

my mom is super hard to shop for since she's not really 'girly' and doesn't like sprays, candles, jewelry, etc..... so i always get her a gift card to the salon she gets her hair cut at

Flowers for both Mom and FMIL. Will probably get my Mom a gift certifcate for a mani/pedi too, and I am baking both Moms a flourless chocolate cake (both of their favs). I usually get my Mom some other stuff - but I am kinda strapped for cash this yr with paying and saving for the wedding...

Thanks for the kind words...it's going to be really hard to show her all of that stuff with both of us knowing that she won't be there, but she really wants to know about all of it. So when FH and I visited Swan Club and booked, we took TONS of pics so we can kind of put together a timeline for her of how the day will pan out. Man, that was really hard to do...but I'm glad we did, and I know she'll really like it.
