What is everyone doing for their Rehearsal Dinner?

I'm trying to figure out if we should go out or stay home and do a big italian family type thing... what's everyone else doing?

We are doing a buffet at the Holiday Inn where everyone is staying...

FH is Italian so I think we may do the big at-home italian thing.

ohhhhhh you have people that can cook and do a big family italian thing---DO IT! You are so lucky! I am jealous...

That's what I was thinking. Both my FMIL and FFIL are great cooks and both retired so I thought maybe they'd be happy if I asked them to do the cooking bit??!?! But I don't want to give them extra stuff to do either. We're doing the rehearsal the weekend before the wedding b/c we want to relax w/ eachother and our families the night before...

i wish we could have had it at a house. both of our parents live out of state though and i don't think our one bedroom apt would seat 32 people comfortably!! :)
But we are depositing today on a restaurant/bar. relaxing atmosphere close to the church. got a pretty decent deal as well.

we are doing ours at the Last Waltz in Miller Place since my fiance is the last Waltz to get married!! LOL

We are going to use a room at Viva Locos in Merrick.

We are having ours at 212 restaurant in Manhattan. We are renting out the upstairs because FH wanted a private room with its own bar! LOL!

We are having ours at World Cafe in NYC. Our friends own it and the food is AWSOME!!!

I went to oen at the grooms family's hosue & it was great. Cook ahead if you can.

Our dilemma is that our rehearsal is at 7. we wouldn't get to a restautant till about 8:30, and FH & mom think its too late, since the wedding is the next day (although not till 3)SO we are thinking of doing dinner before hand at a resarant & coffee afterard at my mom's.
I just don't want to be late for the rehearsal, though.

We're having it at a local italian restaurant. We're going to do it family style since the wedding will be a formal sit-down. We 're paying $30pp for appetizer, pasta, salad, 3 entrees for the table, and beer and wine. Is that a good deal? I thought it was pretty good, most of the people we know will drink that amount. lol!

I think the big Italian family thing sounds great - we might do that ourselves to help cut back on costs! :o)

I wish I could do the at home italian family thing, but with divorced parents that hate each other thats just not possible. So, we are having our rehearsal dinner at Peppercorn's in Hicksville.

we're doing a buffet at the hotel where everyone will be staying
it will be on thursday and the wedding on saturday
