personalize their wedding? I'm painting the favors and making the centerpieces and programs but I want to do more to make it really personal (to everyone not just to us as our wedding will already be personal to us). I just don't want it to feel like a 'cookie cutter' type wedding. Thanks!

We're doing a lot of stuff to personalize it....
FH is designing our program with a picture of us on it (that he drew) Our favors will be Lindt truffles because that's 'our' candy On the tables, we're going to put a Shakespearean sonnet at each place setting becuase I'm an English teacher and I loooooove Shakespeare We designed the invitation to the rehearsal dinner together
I can't thikn of any more.....but we've worked really hard to make it 'our' wedding and do things that we thought were significant to us!

I collect shot glasses, and everyone knows about it, so the first thing was that the favors HAD to be shot glasses imprinted with our names and the wedding date. Then there will be other little things... our song is a little more unique, 'Crazy For You' by Madonna. Yes, it has been done before, but it's not as frequent as something like 'Always' (no offense to anyone who may be using that song). We are trying to think of a few other things we can do to make it 'ours'.

nothing too unique... we just made our STD's w/ our pics on it... for the flowers we are using roses since thats the type of flower FH always gives me... I guess thats about it for now... oh... we are so unoriginal

im a huge winter fan so i did the whole winter wonderland theme. my color is purple so thats what the girls flowers will be and the dresses as well as the flowergirl. my dh is a cop so i wore a garter with a little police car and we walked into the third watch theme. i played a few italins songs for his family and had kielbasa and sauerkraut for mine. we had a slide show when we did our second dance of our pictures through the years. its the small things that people pick up on

We're giving bottle stoppers and I'm looking into mini wine bottles as our favor. Anyone who knows us will get it, we're kind of big drinkers and alot of FH family makes wine. I would love to use their homemade Italian wine, but I don't want to inconvenience them to make it. I'm going to be making my own cry packs and tossing bundles of roses. Hopefully I can get FH to design the programs (he's not all that into wedding stuff, lol!) Our song isn't really what you may think of as a traditional wedding song, but FH and I are big Elton John fans so we're using 'Your Song' as our first dance. We're also going to take dance lessons and put on a little 'show' of what we learned. There will also be traditional dances from both of our backgrounds (Italian and Jewish).

We are doing our programs as Playbills because we are both actors. We are naming the tables after plays we have performed. We are having a group of our friends sing accapella a song that was written by a friend of ours. I am from TN. so we are getting little mason jars to make our bubbles with and putting xxx on the label like it was moonshine. But, the most unusual thing is that we had a friend of ours ordained online so that he can marry us. I am sure there are more to come.

i'm making the std's, invites and programs (if we have them), i want to make the men shell boutonnieres b/c fh, bm, ffil, father, step father and grandfather are all ocean people, i looove frogs, so i want a frog cake topper, and we'll make cd favors, too. this is a good question b/c i don't want a cookie cutter wedding either. might do table names with places we've been to together or funny stories that we've experienced.

I'm also painting my favors (similar to yours SReidy, one stroke). THey are terra cotta flower pots. Painting a couple of my favorite flowers (sunflower and hydrangea) along with tulips and roses. (hopefully most of those flowers will be in centerpiece too)

VERY NICE!!! I knew that I definitely wanted to paint our favors- that was 1 thing I was sure of to personalize our wedding. I hope you post pics- can't wait to see what they look like!
