I bought them each a Lexon picture frame and typed a a beautiful poem for each of them and framed it. It is for our wedding picture we are going to give them.

I was going to give them the same frame as Valentinegirl, but I am going to put our e-pic in it.
And we got parents albums in our photo package soI guess that counts as somewhat of a gift.

i think were giving them a lenox frame for the picture... they are also getting a small parents album with 12 pictures..

For MY parents, who have been generous to us, we are sending them away for a weekend. For his parents, I don't know. A card or something probably. Not much, I can say that.

Here is what we are giving them (see pic below). I am also buying my dad this 
and putting a picture of him and I when I was little.
I also wrote this poem for each of them and created a special thing (see 2nd pic).
Coming soon is the day, I've dreamed of all my life.
I will then be marrying, becoming Michael’s wife.
I wanted to tell you how special, you two are to me.
You have made me what I am, and am ready to be.
That night I will sleep, with dreams of bygone days,
My loving, carefree childhood, and of my childish ways.
Then I will awake, with dreams of things to come,
What my life will be, and who I will become.
With the morning I will have, emotions flowing free,
I just wanted you to know, I'll need you there with me
Your strength and love will guide me, as I become the bride,
As I start this precious journey, I need you by my side.
As I stand with Dad, at the beginning of the aisle
Please look at me dear Mom; I'll need to see your smile.
Your smile and Dad's arm will help to steady me,
As I take this blessed step, for God and all to see.
I'll always be your daughter, and your love I'll always need,
Though we are starting a new chapter, planting a new seed.
Michael is my love, my life, my everything to me,
And he will be beside me, as we tackle what will be.
So right before my wedding day, I say these words to you,
Hoping that you realize, you're in everything I do.
On my wedding day I will pledge to Michael, my very heart and soul,
You have helped to mold me, and he will make me whole.

We gave each of our parents a framed engagement photo of us...in addition my Mom got earrings for the wedding, and myFather got a Watch Money Clip engraved with his initials.....my MIL got a watch and FIL got something else (I forgot, my husband picked it out)
We paid for our wedding, our parents just took care of only certain things...so we wanted to give them a little something for being supportive and easy to deal with.![]()

I wasn't planning on giving them anything at the RD but i am going to give both mothers a copy of our wedding video and album after the fact.

we think we're giving them dvd players, since our wedding video comes on dvd, and we dont' think they own players yet. still in the vcr-generation.. this made that decision easy! We're hoping to find a good price on dvd/vcr machines (one less remote, lol)... hopefully they won't decide to get one for themselves before then!!!
plus a nice photo collage of pics from the wedding from our photographer. neither side really cared for parent albums..

I got my mom & stepdad a $100 gift certificate to Blue Smoke in the city (it's a BBQ restaurant)...
My Dad and StepMom I gave a parents album.
For my DH's parents we just gave them albums since they didn't pay for anything.

LOL-that's a grat idea.We'll probably do the parents album & a frame & picture. FMIL LOVES pictures, esepecially of her only child. . .
Actually, his uncle got divorced & remearried about 15 yers ago, & they still have picture from the first wedding up, b/c they liekd them so much ! ( none of the ex though!)

We bought our parents all $100 gift certificates to dinner. They know we don't have much money. I also bought cute picture frames. My dads says daddy's little girl and my moms says mother and I put pics of us together in them. ![]()
