I want something nautical to go with my theme, so I just ordered some samples of scented soaps shaped like sailboats and shells. Some of the proceeds benefit NOAA's National Marine Sanctuary in Monterey Bay, CA. If they look as good as they do on the Internet, I may use them as our favors and package them in a nice box or mini-basket that can be re-used.

I think we will be doing something like this for place cards.
Full bottle of wine per couple.
Donation to breast cancer (My Mother beat it about 7 years ago)
Krispy Kream when guest leave. The reception ends at 1:00am and FH's a cop. Thought it would be funny too.

We are doing a donation to Breast Cancer research...we just have to find a specific organiztion to dontate to.

No - no theme. I am just getting ready to pick my invites, favors, etc. so if i'm having a theme, i'll pick it then. But, I'm doing everything in blue and silver. I wanted something that people could use in any room, and so I thought maybe i would have our name and date on the outside packaging. I'm back and forth over whether to have our names and date on the candle itself. (I've seen it done both ways). So, basically, I have no idea.
What do you think?

Ours is a very NY love story and a very NYC wedding so we are thinking of mini coffee table books or something in that vein with monograms inside.

My flowers are Sunflowers and my cake has Sunflowers also. (My favorite flower in the world!!) Anyway, I'm thinking about buying (per couple) a packet of Sunflower seeds and decorating it and what-not, including a little saying like 'thank you for being a part of our beginning, please plant these seeds so they will grow as our love grows.' Or, something like that. I know its corny!

i bought clear glass cups with the cow on it. do you remember those? it's a bit of a nostalgic cup from the 'milk man.' i purchased these cups from Crate and Barrel. any excess merchandise you can just return which is great! your guests can also return them. jsut leave the scanning sticker on the merchandise or the wrapping. not all guests tend to like their favors and will ultimately toss them away. this is an alternative for them.

we are doing aroma therapy favors...either heart shaped or leaf for an almost fall theme!! but I love the Lance Armstrong bracelet idea...kinda makes me wanna check that out
