what would you consider an expensive car?

$20K, $30K, $40K, $50K+ ?

this is why i drive a car until the wheels fall off - i hate the process of buying a new car. very few things intimidate me - but this is totally one of them.

HELP!

I am broke and cheap, so all of the above is expensive. I'm with you--I drive it till it falls apart and can't drive it anymore.

What kind of car?

I can't tell you how much I hate car buying. I heard of a service that will do all of the negotiating on your behalf. I need that in my life.

All cars are compared to inground pools. If I could get a sweet pool and patio for less than the car, then it is too expensive. I wouldn't spend more than 30K, unless it was for a super sweet hybrid

New York's Alternative Fuel (Clean Fuel) Vehicle Tax Incentive Program, which offered tax credits and a tax exemption for purchasing new hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), have expired. In Jan. 2006, Governor Pataki proposed new incentives. For more information, please contact the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) at 866- NYSERDA, via email at [email protected], or visit the web site at www.nyserda.org.

Clean Pass is a program allowing eligible low-emission, energy-efficient vehicles to use the 40-mile Long Island Expressway High Occupancy Vehicle (LIE/HOV). Clean Pass is a multi-agency pilot program partnering three New York State agencies, the State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), the State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), and State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

Re: what is expensive?

Well being a home-owner, everything is expensive!!! I recently had to get a new-to-me car, it was a 2006 used listed at $15K (it had high mileage). At this point, it would've been too much for me to buy the same car new (around $22-$24K).

DH wants a new truck, but it actually makes more sense to plug $$$ into his 1995 truck than it does to get him a new one. For him to get the 2007 model of his truck it's about $30K, just not feasible for us.

be careful with them.

i heard that godforbid you are ever in an accident and need to be cut out of your vehicle - the fire dept cannot use the jaws of life to get you out. the battery will hold a charge that would cause an electric current - possibly casuing electricution.

my brother needed to be cut from a vehicle once - you never know what can happen. to each his own - but i never plan on owning one after hearing that.

Re: what is expensive?

i like those priorities.
The car we get after this suv kicks th ebucket- prob around $30K.
I would rather live beneath my means and travel. I plan to always own a small home so I don't have to clean too much.

wow, I wish I had that kind of budget
actually I don't...even if I had it I just don't think I could pay more than 20K for a car. I have a hard time even paying that..yes, I am a bit of a cheapo
