What is going to make your wedding diffrent from everyonelses???

If anything, what is it?? I have been thinking of this, and I can't think of anything.. I was thinking my centerpieces.. I want everyone to be like 'wow, I've never seen that before'etc..

The only thing I can think of is that Larkfield Manor offers guests the choice of 6 entrees and will offer them a second plate if they are still hungary or just want to try something else.

JZNCK and I are both getting married at East Wind, and they do the 6 dish option and allow you to have deconds or take it in a doggie bag!

JZNCK...I think the fact that its personlized seating is a little different..but I know what you mean...need some ideas too, but I think my touch will be a lot of handcragted things I do myself, such as my cd favors, and just other touches I have not even thought of yet! Yikes! ITs like so close!

• We had a choice of six (6) entrées: Veal, Sea Bass Mediterranean, Chicken Boscaiola, Eggplant Parmigiana, Filet Mignon, or Muscovy Duck Chambord. All guests including ourselves can choose their entrées on the day of the wedding rather than having to write it on their RSVP card which is good because people can always change their mind about food. What if you’re not in the mood for eggplant on the day of the wedding but were in the mood a month ago?

• We had wedding newsletters published and distributed monthly to our wedding party members updating our wedding plans and secrets. Twelve (12) newsletters total, one special newsletter designed specifically to our OOT guests.

• Our programs had a poem about our love for each other, and a photo during our courtship. (Pics are in my bio.)
• We had 2 delicious and beautiful wedding cakes, one from our reception site and the other from DH’s aunt. It was a Lithuanian wedding cake to incorporate our cultural background on our wedding day and DH’s aunt was very generous to share it with 150 guests.

• We had clear labels printed for our guests’ names on the seating cards to look elegant and neat rather than hand written.

• We had 2 foam poster boards which was displayed on an easel next to our card table and the other in front of MOB’s house for our Post-Wedding Party the next day. It has our names, date and photos of us individually and as a couple together symbolizing the idea of “two become one.”

• Our reception has 2 gazebos in the outdoor garden.
• Our reception’s outdoor garden has a fake but elegant small wishing well.
• We incorporated our cultural backgrounds into our wedding day with a Lithuanian blessing. The Elements of Life given to us from our parents: bread, wine, and salt. Bread symbolizes there will always be food on the table, wine for the sweetness in life, salt for the bitterness in the marriage. DH is half Lithuanian.

• On the same topic of incorporating our cultural background on our wedding day: I wore Chinese bridal jewelry. Two Chinese gold bracelets, half moon necklace (this is a wedding gift from my aunt that symbolizes a Chinese matchmaker which I have found my soul mate) and a jade bracelet. Pics are in my bio.

• One of my bridesmaid took the mic and sang her heart out to us. She sang “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain which I love that song, perfect song for us! I’ve never seen any wedding party members sing at a wedding.

Our hall, actually escorts each guest to their table.. I'm not sure if you see the attendent and tell them your name, or if you bring a place card up to them,and they bring you to your table.. I'm not sure.. but I know they escort each guest to their table

Uhm, I'm Jamaican (gonna be Jewish) and he's Ashkenazi Jewish. So it'll be a Jewish-Jamaican wedding. Glatt Kosher too. THey'll be quite a bit of reggae - my Jazz trio will play some, as will my DJ. If he can find a reggae verison of the Hora it'll be perfect.

Instead of a guest book, we had a ceramic guest 'platter', everyone signed using a special marker and when we got home from our honeymoon, we just baked it in our home oven for 30 minutes making the signatures permanent...it thought that was pretty different.

We are having pipers and drummers from FH's Emerald Society band come play at reception. We are both Irish and are having a set of traditional Irish jigs and reels as well as American dance music. And the wait staff will all be decked out in leprechaun garb!!

I think for mine its just the elaborateness of it all.

My dress is incredibly different and gorgeous. The train must be 15 feet.

The monsigneur who is officiating incorporates essays that we both write into the ceremony.

The amount of flowers should blow people away. Some of them will have special lighting to highlight them. We are also having colored silk duppioni linens.

The trumpeteers greeting everyone when they arrive.

The jazz hour post party.

The motown/disco/r and b/funk band.

i think the whole thing is going to be really different - from the bridesmaids dresses which are being custom done to the whole halloween theme - even our favors of masquerade masks i think is really origional - we are using really odd music for the key points of the wedding - like we finally decided to use the theme song from ghostbusters to introduce the bridal party
i think we are going to be pretty origional - oh didi i mention our newest idea of a fog cake?
lol
i think i am having alot of fun with the whole theme thing - i would recommend it alot - it helps kill the stress

My centerpices are not flowers they are glasss bowls with floating candles.

Small BP. Just my sister and best friend

One wedding at a time( different from all my friends)

Our entrance song (its a secret)

ceremony at halll ( again different from my friends I know alot of people do this)

We want a bar set of music played ( we want the regular wedding stuff but we want a bar set too: sweet caroline, come on eileen, shook me all night etc....)

My FH is Israeli as are my parents. We are playing a lot of Israeli and middle eastern music and the song we are walking down the aisle to is also Israeli.

I also have a guy in my wedding party- I guess that is different.
